Top 5 Emergency Things to Make Money Now!
Number 1: Ebay or ebay.com– Im a huge fan of Ebay. I started using it in 1998 when no one thought it was really legit. I’ve made a lot of money on ebay and sold all kinds of things. Ive learned a lot of things over the years, so let me me give you a 3 big secrets:
- List items that are selling, run a sold report in the searches: If the item is not selling, don’t list it! Here’s some ideas on what still sells fast for a lot of money:
- electronics
- jewelry, watches, rings
- designer clothing, jeans, jackets, shoes
- collector specific items
- List items items at the times when the most people are on-line:
- Schedule closings on evenings and weekends
- Don’t close on Monday-wed
- Sunday night is hot
- Check when similar items sold for the most; time/day of week
- List items for sale on Ebay the right way the first time:
- Full description with measurements
- Lots of photos
- CLEAR terms and condition
- Reasonable shipping terms and charges.
Number 2: Craigs List , craigslist.com– or the newspaper classified killer. Craigs list is great: It’s local and its free. Here’s some secrets to get quick results on Craigs List .com:
- Post an add with a full description and 4 max photos
- Post your ads Wed-Sun after 5 PM
- Include a phone number and name
- Offer a tie-in -in other words incl something for free
Number 3: Put the word out using social media: Let everyone know that you are available for a specific job or skill. I see tweets all day long on Twitter that are great job postings. Add employment companies and HR teams to your contacts.
Send msgs to your friends on line. You never know what kind of response you could get. One of your contact may send you a msg that says: “One of my friends works at a company that does that- let me see what I can do”
Here are some TIPS:
- Offer your skills at $$/hr, eg – contact administrative assistant $10/hr, or experience handman, $20/hr
- Add friends and contacts in the service you want to find emplyment. Then those employers see you status updates and tweets – get it?
- Use email to follow up, send a resume and cover letter. Always offer part time hours and/or a trial period (for free even)!
Number 4: Call Everyone in Your Network: These are people that are not on-line connections…But I want to make sure you are doing this as well. Don’t leave important people off your list just because they are not on-line. This should also include professionals you work with such as teachers, trainers, HR contacts, past employers, other contacts inside local companies such as salespeople.

Number 5: Community Yard Sale: OK, Im gonna say it – yard sale. I see some yard sale mobbed with people are cars these days. You can’t even find parking! What is going on? I guess everyone is looking for a good bargain these days
Well, its still a great way to make money fast. I’ve made 300-400 in one afternoon on the weekend doing a garage sale!
Here are some TIPS:
- Really gather more items than you expect to sell, it gathers a crowd when it takes longer to look
- Have some high profile items out front – musical instruments, antiques, art
- Partner with neighbors and friends to get more items together, share the marketing work- you must really put the word out CL, kajiji, yahoo classified, FB, twitter, bandit signs. Draw max audience
HOMEWORK: Here’s your homework from this call. Ive given you 5 Things to Make Money Now, but Ive probably given you more than that if you try some of these things. For those of you on the call today that need to get things turned around, that need to see some hope in their financial picture: I want each of you to be doing at least 2 of these things in the next 7 days. Start working your contact list today!

-I want you making 10 new contacts per day, and no chatting with a friend on yahoo msgr doesn’t count as a contact..
